My Pet Peeve for the Letter R
Hello my name is DM and I am colour blind. I’m not talking
about being medically colour blind as in not being able to distinguish colours,
I’m talking about refusing to allow myself to base my judgements on others
because of their skin colour.
Racism still runs rampant
in today’s world even though it is 2014. It seems every time I read the paper,
watch the evening news or listen to the radio there is someone somewhere that
is either calling foul because of their race or a tragedy happening because
someone did not have the right skin colour. It makes me cringe when I hear
people talking about how much they don’t like someone and their reasoning has
nothing to do with anything in particular except for their skin colour. It’s a
really big pet peeve of mine when I hear people trying to mock the way others
talk by trying to imitate certain accents. As far as I am concerned, we ALL
bleed red blood which makes us ALL the same.
