My Pet Peeve for the Letter F
F is for Facebook Status Posts
Steps up onto the podium of Facebook. Clears my throat…….
Now I’m not trying to sound harsh, and I do feel bad that
you are not feeling well or that a visit to the dentist was not a good one, but
I really don’t want to know how bad it hurt or that you have problems with the
lining of your jaw. We all have bad days at work and come home to problems that
have occurred there as well, but I really don’t want to know how lazy your spouse
is or how you are so mad at your kids that you could just scream or that your
BFF made a move on your boyfriend. I’m not really interested that you are
taking a nap in the middle of the day or how bored you are because there is
nothing to do, and let’s not forget all the baby mama or baby daddy drama! Good
grief, that stuff should be kept to personal messages not the damn status
updates. I had a family member and a friend that made this their daily status
so I sent them a message to maybe keep that stuff to personal messages, and all
I got in return was, “don’t like it…delete me. So I did J. I guess some people feel
that everyone should have a play by play update of their lives.

I actually don't use facebook to often but I do hate it when people have public fights on their facebook walls.
I've argued with my siblings before of course and once or twice they refrenced a fight we had on facebook and I made them take it down immediately. I don't want our friends and family weighing in on OUR fight that is none of their business and which we will forget about in a couple of hours anyway. No no no.

I cancelled my facebook account years ago (after they stole $800 off one of my credit cards) and I don't miss it at all! Plus, it's one of the most insecure places you can be on the web. I just don't understand the point of gaining friends who you don't know/don't like and having to listen to their, "we're eating supper now", or "gotta go to the bathroom" posts! And don't get me started on the bible quotes by people that I knew didn't have a religious bone in their body!
I use FB to keep connected with my family as well since we all live all over the place.
I actually had one of my FB "friends" post that anyone who doesn't post negative things on FB is a liar and isn't "real." I try to keep things as positive as I can and I have no desire to lay my crap out there for everyone to see. On the other hand, people can say what they want and I don't really care because I don't bother reading those kinds of posts, just scroll right on past them.
I just don't get it. Why do people post 'enigmatic' comments that demand someone ask what's up? Why do it? Why?
